Ithaca College’s field hockey squad captured a 2-0 triumph over nationally ranked No. 21 Haverford College on Saturday, extending their flawless start to the season to three wins.
Game Highlights
The Bombers struck first within the opening minutes when Toni Ierardi capitalized on a pass from Brooke Snider, sending the ball past Haverford’s goalkeeper to put Ithaca ahead.
Goalkeeper Maeve Clark was the linchpin of the defensive effort, making 12 saves, including nine in the fourth quarter, to preserve the clean sheet.
Despite Haverford’s national ranking, Ithaca dominated possession and outshot the visitors 19-2, while also earning a 9-1 corner advantage that underscored their control of the match.
The Bombers will next test their mettle on Wednesday, September 9, at 7 p.m. when they travel to face Cortland, aiming to maintain their unbeaten streak.
