Montgomery Opens Registration for 2026 Fall Youth Flag Football League

Co‑ed, non‑contact program for ages 6‑12 emphasizes teamwork, skill development and volunteer coaching opportunities

Montgomery’s 2026 Fall Youth Flag Football League has opened its doors to young athletes, offering a co‑ed, non‑contact platform for children aged six to twelve to learn the fundamentals of football while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

League Overview

The program is structured around confidence‑building drills that cover passing, catching, route running, defensive positioning and flag pulling, all delivered by certified coaches in a safe, non‑contact environment that prioritizes player development over physical confrontation.

Registration remains open until Sunday, September 20, 2026, with a flat fee of $30 per participant. Families can secure a spot online through the Montgomery Flag Football Registration Portal or by visiting FunInMontgomery.com, and they also have the option to register in person at any of the six designated community centers—Chisholm, Highland Gardens, Courtney Pruitt, Regency Park, Sheridan Heights and McIntyre.

The Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department is actively recruiting volunteer coaches to mentor the youth teams. Applications are available at the Oak Park Administrative Office, located at 1010 Forest Avenue, and can be submitted directly to the same office.

For further information, interested parents may contact Curtis Wimberly at 334‑625‑4742, or reach the Sheridan Heights Community Center at 334‑659‑8055.
