Albany Girls Flag Football Eyes Playoff Run After Split Finale

Key performances and upcoming state tournament set the stage for a competitive postseason

The Albany girls flag football team wrapped up the regular season with a 4‑4 record, setting the stage for a postseason that begins on May 31.

Quarterback Kiley Lange led the offense with 18‑of‑26 passing for 188 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in the win over Sartell, while Josie Dingmann contributed 10 catches for 118 yards and a score.

Playoff Outlook

Bella Schiffler added six receptions for 35 yards, and Lillian Van Heel capped the Sartell game with a 30‑yard touchdown reception.

In the final matchup against Melrose, Lange’s performance dipped to 8‑of‑21 for 86 yards and an interception, but Dingmann still managed four catches for 40 yards and Schiffler ran for 31 yards on the ground.

A scheduled Sunday double‑header at ROCORI High School was called off due to inclement weather, leaving the playoff bracket to proceed as planned with the state tournament slated for June 8 at the Minnesota Vikings’ TCO Stadium in Eagan.

The upcoming tournament will test the Huskies against the state’s elite, offering a final chance to translate regular‑season momentum into a championship run.
