The Oregon high school football season has already produced dramatic shifts in the statewide rankings, with traditional powerhouses adjusting their positions early on.

West Linn captured the No. 1 position with a commanding 45-20 win over Central Catholic, a rematch that avenged a semifinal loss from the previous year’s playoffs, while head coach Anthony Newman made his debut on the sidelines this season.
Tualatin improved to a perfect 2-0 and climbed to No. 3 after a strong performance against Sherwood, a result that has led many to dub the Tualatin area “the SEC of Oregon high school football.”
