Iowa women's basketball will welcome Jada Seubert and Khalia Hartwell on September 11‑12 during Cy‑Hawk week, a pivotal recruiting window that could shape the Hawkeyes' future roster.
Cy‑Hawk Week Sets the Stage
Seubert, a 5‑foot‑11 combo guard from Stevens Point, Wisconsin, has been committed to Iowa since January 2024 and dominated her junior season with 24.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 3.7 assists per game, earning first‑team All‑State honors and being named WVC Co‑Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
Hartwell, a 6‑foot‑5 center from Anderson, South Carolina, arrives as one of the nation’s most coveted prospects, ranked No. 16 overall and No. 2 among centers by 247Sports, and was recognized as South Carolina’s Gatorade Player of the Year after posting 12.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game.
The Hawkeyes are strategically positioned between official visits to Georgia on September 4 and Virginia Tech on September 18, hoping to leverage Seubert’s influence and the allure of Iowa’s program to persuade Hartwell to join the 2027 class.
While Seubert remains Iowa’s lone 2027 commitment, the coaching staff is also courting additional talent, including guards Santana Sabus and Destiny Manyawu and forwards Sienna Williams and Nation Williams, to add depth and versatility.
Cy‑Hawk week not only pits the Hawkeyes against rival Wisconsin but also underscores the growing competition among Big Ten programs for elite recruits, making the upcoming visits crucial for Iowa’s long‑term success.
