Caden Ramsey, a tight end for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, found himself in legal trouble early September after being arrested in Moncks Corner for racing on a public road.
On the Field
The incident came just days after he made his collegiate debut, stepping onto the field for six snaps in the Gamecocks' dominant 57-0 victory over Kent State on September 5.
A three-star recruit out of Cross High School in Berkeley County, Ramsey was expected to contribute as a developmental player in the tight end position.
Head coach Shane Beamer recognized the rookie’s effort by naming him the offensive scout player of the week, highlighting his involvement in the team's early success.
Off the Field
Despite the arrest, university records still listed Ramsey on the official roster at the time of publication, indicating that his status with the team remained unaltered.
The Gamecocks are slated to face Towson University on September 12 in Columbia, giving Ramsey another opportunity to return to the field.
