Coaching Changes Across Indiana
Indiana's high school basketball landscape is undergoing a series of coaching adjustments as several programs look to reshape their teams for the upcoming season.
At Bishop Dwenger, the school announced that Brandon O’Leary will not return after two seasons as head coach. O’Leary, who joined the program in 2009 and most recently served as a varsity assistant from 2018 to 2024, finishes his tenure with a 7‑39 record.
His departure comes after a period of rebuilding that saw the team struggle to find consistency, prompting the administration to seek fresh leadership.
Columbia City appoints Kyle Fillman
Meanwhile, Columbia City has tapped Kyle Fillman to lead its girls basketball squad. Fillman arrives after a stint as an assistant on the boys team, where he helped guide the Eagles to a 24‑5 record and a Class 3A semistate appearance last season.
Fillman’s promotion reflects the school’s confidence in his ability to translate that success to the girls side of the program.
New Haven begins search
New Haven, on the other hand, is now in the market for a new girls head coach following the recent exit of Kevin Clopton, who had been hired only a month ago.
The school has not yet disclosed a timeline for filling the position, but officials say they will prioritize candidates who can build on the momentum generated by recent performances.
