Nick Ciresi has been elevated to Associate Athletic Director for Finance at Siena University Athletics, a move that places the seasoned coach and administrator at the intersection of financial strategy and athletic program development.
Coaching Legacy
Ciresi’s 15‑year tenure in collegiate basketball spans multiple institutions. He served as head men’s basketball coach at Hartwick College from 2021 to 2024, after which he held associate coaching positions at Union College from 2014 to 2019 and again from 2009 to 2011, and contributed as a graduate assistant at Fairleigh Dickinson University between 2011 and 2014.
Prior to his promotion, Ciresi functioned as Assistant Athletic Director for Fan Engagement since May 2024, where he managed ticket sales for both men’s and women’s basketball programs, crafted marketing strategies, and cultivated community partnerships that expanded the department’s customer database and sales reach.
His professional background also includes a notable fundraising achievement: he helped organize the Classic Nick Lambros Golf Tournament, generating $17,000 for the Wick Athletic Fund, and he maintains active ties with the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club, further demonstrating his commitment to community outreach.
Ciresi holds an MBA in Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Union College, credentials that equip him with the analytical tools needed to navigate budgeting, revenue forecasting, and resource allocation for Siena’s athletic programs.
Strategic Vision
His appointment signals Siena Athletics’ intent to strengthen financial sustainability and improve the allocation of resources for student‑athletes, coaches, and the broader university community, aligning with the institution’s mission of “Building Better Saints.”
With his blend of coaching experience, marketing acumen, and financial education, Ciresi is expected to drive Siena Athletics toward greater fiscal resilience and continued growth, reinforcing the university’s commitment to supporting its athletes on and off the court.
