The University of Minnesota women's hockey team finished third in the WCHA preseason coaches' poll with 35 points, establishing a strong foundation for the upcoming 2026‑27 season.
Preseason Honors
Junior defender Chloe Primerano, now in her third year with the Gophers, was named to the Preseason All‑WCHA Team and previously earned All‑WCHA Rookie and Third Team honors; she concluded the 2025‑26 campaign with a career‑high 10 goals and 30 points, marking her second straight 30‑point season and bringing her total to 61 points in her first two seasons.
Freshman forward Adrianna Milani arrived on the roster after a standout performance with Canada’s U18 side, where she contributed 10 goals and three assists to a silver‑medal finish at the 2026 tournament and earned All‑Star Team honors; before joining Minnesota, she compiled 155 career points (88 goals, 67 assists) with the Etobicoke Junior Dolphins, and her preseason recognition as the WCHA Rookie of the Year follows a series victory over the United States.
The Gophers will open the 2026‑27 season with a two‑game road series against Bemidji State on October 2‑3, a matchup that will test the blend of Primerano’s experience and Milani’s fresh talent as they look to build on the momentum from a strong preseason.
