Boston University announced the hiring of Ian Milosz as an assistant coach for its women's ice hockey program, effective for the 2026‑27 season. The Terriers' head coach, Tara Watchorn, said the addition aligns with the team's focus on strengthening player development and competitive depth.
Coaching Experience Meets Playing Legacy
Milosz arrives after two seasons as goaltending coach at Boston College, where he helped shape a pipeline that produced players transitioning to Division I and professional leagues. Prior to that, he served as the goaltending coach for Merrimack in the 2023‑24 season and spent three years with Goaltending Development Services, collaborating with Los Angeles Kings goaltending coach Mike Buckley. In that role he mentored athletes such as Grace Campbell, who later signed with the Toronto Sceptres of the PWHL, and guided numerous players through NCAA and junior pathways.
His playing career adds a unique perspective; after graduating from Boston College in 2019 with a degree in applied psychology and human development, Milosz spent the 2019‑20 season in the ECHL with the Worcester Railers. That blend of elite playing experience and coaching acumen equips him to address the technical and mental aspects of goaltending at the collegiate level.
Tara Watchorn, head coach of Boston University, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, noting Milosz's proven track record in developing goaltenders and his evident passion for nurturing talent. "His experience and enthusiasm for player development will be invaluable as we prepare for the upcoming season," she said.
With his background spanning the NCAA, junior leagues, and professional minor‑hockey circuits, Milosz is expected to enhance the Terriers' goaltending depth and contribute to the broader growth of the program as it eyes success in the 2026‑27 campaign.
