Hun School Field Hockey Team Prepares for a Competitive Season

Coach Tracey Arndt and a blend of veteran leaders and fresh talent aim to sharpen fundamentals after an overseas training stint

The Hun School field hockey team, known as the Raiders, entered the 2025 season with a fresh surge of confidence after a dominant 7‑0 victory over Hopewell Valley High in their opener, a performance highlighted by Delaney Jones' three assists.

In early August, the squad traveled to Belgium and the Netherlands for an intensive training camp that exposed them to the level of play seen at the FIH World Cup, giving the young roster a valuable taste of elite competition.

Key Players and Roles

Freshman Evelyn Miller quickly made her mark, contributing 13 goals and three assists while balancing club commitments and the NEXUS program, and junior Delaney Jones, with 16 goals and five assists, has emerged as a central midfield force aiming for college opportunities.

The forward line will be bolstered by sophomore Kennadi Kroski, who added six goals and an assist, as well as juniors Karly Hayes and Sloan Smylie, whose combined contributions of three and two goals respectively provide depth and creativity in attack.

Experienced defenders Amanda Wolfe and Caroline Sirolly bring leadership to the back line, with Sirolly, a five‑goal, five‑assist presence who will continue her career at the University of Scranton, while senior goaltender Lynsey Parrott returns with 120 saves in 2025, anchoring the defense.

Looking ahead, the Raiders are scheduled to test themselves against Academy of New Church on September 10, Rome Free Academy on September 12, and Allentown High on September 14, with the coaching staff emphasizing refined fundamentals and a stronger midfield presence to compete against the region's top teams.
