Josh Patton has been named the eighth head coach of the Allen County‑Scottsville Lady Patriots basketball team, bringing a seven‑year coaching background that includes two seasons as head coach of a girls' program at Webster County.
Patton’s most recent role was as an assistant on the ACS boys' squad under Jeremy Garrett, a position that gave him deep familiarity with the community, players and parents who are eager to see the girls' program thrive.
A New Coaching Vision
The Lady Patriots enter a rebuilding phase after losing nearly all of their production from the 2025‑26 season, creating an opportunity for fresh strategies and a new era of play.
Patton plans to install a new offensive system and schedule a full slate of summer games to prepare the team for the 2026‑27 campaign, promising that the squad will compete at a high level from day one.
He notes that girls' basketball offers a different tempo — slower and more deliberate — and that he enjoys the challenge of shaping a program that can sustain success beyond a single season.
