Spring Football Wrap‑Up
The Louisiana High School Athletic Association has announced that District 7‑4A will once again bring together four St. Tammany Parish programs — Hannan, Lakeshore, Pearl River and Salmen — along with Franklinton for the 2026 football season. The realignment, which mirrors the previous year’s configuration, sets the stage for a competitive slate of games beginning in the fall.
Hannan High School wrapped up its spring schedule with an intrasquad scrimmage on May 14, giving Coach Steve Soper a chance to evaluate his squad. Soper praised the defensive unit, singling out Gabe Timmons and Paul Hoyt for strong performances, while offensive standouts Braylon Smith, Braden Sprang and Graesyn Broussard built on their 2025 campaigns.
Lakeshore High School held its spring game a day earlier, on May 13, against Cecilia. Coach Hunter Bonvillain highlighted the emergence of sophomore running back Alexander Addison and commended the offensive line for its cohesion heading into the summer.
Pearl River High School faced the Seminary Bulldogs, a Class 3A semifinalist, on May 14. The game produced a 36‑yard field goal by Joseph Vittorelli and a 1‑yard touchdown run by Ja’Ty Maryland, underscoring the team’s offensive firepower.
Salmen High School concluded its spring slate with a scrimmage against second‑round playoff team Bonnabel on May 15. Coach Eric Chuter expressed satisfaction with the offensive line’s progress and noted the defense’s ability to generate turnovers.
Coaches’ Outlook
Coach Steve Soper of Hannan said the defensive improvements give his team a foundation to build on, while Coach Hunter Bonvillain of Lakeshore remains focused on maintaining the offensive line’s momentum. Pearl River’s Joseph Vittorelli and Ja’Ty Maryland are expected to be key contributors, and Salmen’s Eric Chuter believes his unit can sustain the turnover‑creating style that defined last season.
