All‑Star Selections Announced
The 48th Annual West Nebraska All-Star Football Game and the 42nd Annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game rosters have been released, bringing together the state's top senior athletes for a June showdown that celebrates athletic excellence across western Nebraska.
How the Teams Were Chosen
Coaches from each participating high school nominated standout players, and the final squads were selected by the All-Star coaching staff. This process ensures that the most deserving athletes earn a spot on the field or court, reflecting both individual achievement and regional representation.
Game Schedule and Venues
The football contest will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Bearcat Stadium in Scottsbluff, kicking off at 11:00 a.m. MDT. Later that afternoon, the volleyball match will be held at 3:00 p.m. MDT in the WNCC Cougar Palace, also located in Scottsbluff.
Community Impact
A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales and related fundraising will be directed to local nonprofit organizations, continuing a long‑standing tradition of using these all‑star events to support community causes and foster regional goodwill.
Participating Schools
The West football roster draws talent from Garden County, McCook, North Platte St. Pat’s, Sidney, Gering, Hitchcock County, Alliance, Scottsbluff, Hemingford, Bridgeport, Hershey, Mullen and several other schools. The East side features athletes from Cambridge, Sargent, Lexington, Alma, Kearney, Minden, Cozad, Gothenburg, Pleasanton, Kearney Catholic, Overton, Thedford and Ord. In volleyball, the West team includes players from Scottsbluff, Hitchcock County, Bridgeport, McCook, Valentine, Chadron, Sidney, Ogallala, Morrill and Alliance, while the East squad showcases talent from Gothenburg, Sumner‑Eddyville‑Miller, Axtell, Litchfield, Overton, Broken Bow, Southwest and Holdrege.
Coaching Staff
Head coaches and assistants for both football and volleyball have been named, with leaders such as Joe Vetrovsky, Brendan Geier, Michael Sandstrom, Ben Vetrovsky, Brandon Cool, Tyke Kozeal, Kyle Peters, Nate Wells, Jodi Craig, Lisa Merritt, Julie Ratka and Jamee Smith slated to guide their respective squads.
