Manhattan University’s women’s basketball program has announced the addition of Ana Zesati, a Mexican‑born forward, for the upcoming 2026‑27 season. The transfer, who brings a blend of size, skill and international experience, is expected to bolster the Jaspers’ frontcourt as they look to build on recent successes.
A Versatile Forward with Proven Winning Pedigree
Zesati’s college career began at Lamar Community College in Colorado, where she developed into a reliable scorer and rebounder. In her sophomore year she posted averages of 15 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, and she once erupted for 31 points with 13 boards in a single contest. Her ability to score both inside and out has been a key factor in a program that finished the season with 21 wins.
Head Coach Heather Vulin has spoken enthusiastically about the new recruit, describing Zesati as a versatile forward who can stretch the floor and dominate the paint. “She has good hands, elite footwork and a keen understanding of angles,” Vulin said. “Her experience in winning environments will help us push the program forward.”
Beyond the NCAA, Zesati has represented Mexico on the senior stage, competing in three FIBA tournaments between 2021 and 2024. At the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship she averaged 10.5 points and 7.3 rebounds over six games, while at the 2023 Centrobasket U17 Women’s Championship she pulled down 22 rebounds in the final and contributed 15 points.
Vulin believes Zesati’s trajectory points to a bright future at Manhattan. “I’m impressed by her potential and look forward to seeing how she develops within our system,” the coach added, underscoring the excitement surrounding the signing.
