Chris Hart has been appointed the 17th head coach of the NC State Wolfpack baseball program, capping a 22‑year journey that began as an assistant and evolved into a central figure in the team’s recent successes.
His reputation as a recruiter and talent developer is underscored by the program’s draft output: 32 players have been selected since 2010, including three‑time MLB All‑Star Trea Turner, and 18 position players entered the MLB Draft between 2019 and 2025.
Hart’s impact is evident in both offensive and defensive metrics, helping the Wolfpack earn top‑five recruiting class rankings three times and earning D1Baseball’s nod as one of the nation’s elite recruiters in 2016.
A New Era for Wolfpack Baseball
The appointment signals a pivotal moment for the program as it aims to build on recent achievements and sustain its competitive edge within the Atlantic Coast Conference.
A Florida State graduate with a degree in sport management, Hart previously served as an assistant at St. Petersburg College and head coach of the Loudoun Rangers before returning to Raleigh.
Off the field, Hart and his wife Haley are parents to two sons, Houston and Walker, who share their father’s passion for the game.
