The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League has announced the dates and times for next week’s baseball and softball championship games. The baseball finals will be played at EQT Park in Washington, while the softball finals will take place at Lilley Field on the campus of California University of Pennsylvania. In the baseball bracket, the Class 6A title game will feature Butler against North Allegheny, and the Class 5A championship will see Upper St. Clair take on South Fayette. Defending champion Indiana will move up to Class 4A to meet Elizabeth Forward, while Fort Cherry will face Neshannock in Class 2A and Eden Christian will square off against Greensburg Central Catholic in Class A. South Park’s left‑hander Cooper Hochendoner has been dominant, striking out 25 batters over 17 innings and delivering a no‑hit shutout against Keystone Oaks in the first round. In the softball playoffs, Shaler’s Bria Bosiljevac has fanned 35 opponents in just 15 innings, while South Park’s Sydney Sekely posted 34 strikeouts in 14 frames.
