Boston University has named Clint Williams as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team, slated to begin his duties ahead of the 2026‑27 campaign. The move adds a coach whose career spans multiple collegiate programs and international competition.
A Journey Across Programs
Williams previously served as an assistant at Boston College, Brown University, Indiana State, and Morehead State, where he helped develop post players and contributed to offensive rebounding strategies. At Brown, he worked with Giana Aiello, Alyssa Moreland and Ada Anamawke, each of whom posted notable statistical lines that would rank among the Ivy League's best.
International Success with the Virgin Islands
Beyond the college ranks, Williams held the role of associate head coach for the U.S. Virgin Islands Senior Women's National Team. Under his guidance the squad captured a gold medal at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games and recorded a historic win over Brazil at the 2017 FIBA Centrobasket Tournament.
His playing days included stints with the Georgia Gwizzlies and in the New Breed Basketball Association, experiences that have informed his coaching philosophy and player development approach.
What This Means for Boston University
The university's athletic department expressed confidence that Williams' blend of domestic and overseas experience will elevate recruiting, player growth, and overall competitiveness. The hire aligns with a broader strategy to infuse the program with a global perspective as it prepares for the upcoming season.
