UConn’s women’s basketball program announced a significant addition to its lineup, confirming the signing of Marine Dursus, a 5‑foot‑10 shooting guard hailing from Strasbourg, France, for the 2026‑27 season.
A Strategic Addition for the Huskies
Head coach Geno Auriemma, who has guided the Huskies to multiple national titles, highlighted Dursus’s scoring instincts and relentless competitiveness, noting that her skill set aligns perfectly with the team’s offensive philosophy.
Dursus arrives after a distinguished stint with the French Youth National Team, where she has collected medals at every major junior tournament, including gold at the 2024 FIBA U20 EuroBasket and silver at the 2023 FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship.
Her professional résumé includes seasons in France’s La Boulangère Wonderligue with Angers, where she averaged 9.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists during the current campaign, and a participation in the NBA’s 2024 Basketball Without Borders Global Women’s Camp in Phoenix, an experience that broadened her exposure to elite coaching and international talent.
The Huskies will also welcome freshmen Olivia Vukosa and Jovana Popovic, but Dursus stands out as the most seasoned international presence, joining previous French Husky Lou Lopez Sénéchal and becoming the fourth player from France to wear the UConn jersey.
