Kansas State football has added its eleventh pledge to the 2027 recruiting class, securing the commitment of three‑star safety Bryson Dossett, a standout from Texas who is listed as the No. 113 safety in the national 247Sports Composite rankings.
Dossett chose the Wildcats over a slate of Power Five suitors that included Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Houston, North Carolina and Illinois, among others. He took official visits to Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Duke before making his decision, a process that underscored the breadth of his interest.
A Family Legacy Fuels the Commitment
The prospect brings more than just on‑field ability; his family ties to the sport added a narrative backdrop. His older brother, Mason Dossett, is a redshirt sophomore safety at LSU, while their father, Martin Dossett, starred at Baylor before spending two seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
With Dossett’s verbal agreement, the Wildcats’ 2027 class climbs to No. 32 in the national rankings and secures third place within the Big 12, a position that reflects the coaching staff’s growing influence on the recruiting trail.
What This Means for the Wildcats' Future
Head coach Chris Klieman praised the addition, noting that Dossett’s blend of size, speed and football IQ fits the defensive scheme the program has been refining over the past several seasons.
The commitment also illustrates the broader trend of elite Texas talent gravitating toward the Big 12, a shift that could reshape conference dynamics in the coming years.
