Conference Awards Overview
The Juneau‑Douglas High School Yadaa.at Kalé Crimson Bears boys soccer squad brought home multiple Railbelt Conference honors, highlighted by senior Jesper Bennetsen and junior Sam Mazon securing spots on the first team.
Elliot Welch, a senior defender/midfielder from JDHS, and sophomore defender/midfielder Bryce Haygood also earned second‑team selections, while senior John Melancon was recognized with a Good Sport Award.
West Valley’s Koen Aitken, a senior midfielder/forward, was crowned Most Valuable Player, and his coach Damon Crutcher received the Coach of the Year accolade.
The all‑conference lists also reflect participation from across the region, including Colony, Wasilla and Lathrop high schools, with first‑team members hailing from JDHS, WV, Colony, Wasilla and Lathrop.
Second‑team honorees represent JDHS, WV, Colony and Wasilla, while honorable mentions were distributed among Colony, Wasilla and Lathrop, and Good Sport Awards were presented to athletes from each of those institutions.
Looking ahead to the 2026 season, the final standings placed West Valley first, Colony second, JDHS third, Wasilla fourth and Lathrop fifth, underscoring the competitive balance across the conference.
