A Dual‑Sport Commitment for Kansas Women's Teams
Cydnee Bryant, a McDonald’s All‑American and 247Sports four‑star recruit, has elected to continue her collegiate career at the University of Kansas, where she will join both the women’s basketball and volleyball programs.
Coach Brandon Schneider, who previously oversaw multi‑sport athletes at Emporia State, says he will guide Bryant through a balanced schedule that lets her focus on volleyball during its season and rejoin the basketball roster afterward.
Because the volleyball season overlaps with part of the basketball calendar, Bryant will miss several non‑conference basketball games. Schneider acknowledges the gap but believes the team can adjust, even experimenting with four‑guard lineups to maintain depth.
The Kansas front court will feature returning standouts such as Jaliya Davis, Regan Williams, Brooklynn Renn and Tatyonna Brown, who together aim to propel the program back to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2024.
Schneider emphasizes that the dual‑sport arrangement could set a precedent for how Kansas blends talent across sports, offering both programs a unique competitive edge.
