Governor Josh Stein has directed that U.S. and North Carolina flags be lowered to half‑staff at all state facilities from May 23 through May 24 as a mark of respect for NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, who passed away on Thursday after a brief illness.
Busch, a two‑time NASCAR Cup Series champion, was in the midst of his 22nd full‑time season and had been scheduled to compete in the upcoming Coca‑Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
