The Seminole Ridge High School girls' flag football team has captured the 3A state championship for the second straight year, finishing the campaign with a 20‑2 record and a No. 1 national ranking according to MaxPreps.
On May 16, the Hawks edged St. Thomas Aquinas 27‑19 in a tightly contested final that cemented their place at the top of the sport.
Coach Scott O'Hara said that winning the last game of the year fulfills every objective the program set for the season.
Junior Maeson Frost expressed pride in the team's body of work, noting that the players stay focused on each individual contest rather than the final tally.
Senior Carrie Didio reminded teammates that relentless effort and strong chemistry will be essential if they hope to achieve a three‑peat next year.
