The Tennessee freshman right‑hander joins a star‑studded roster ahead of the World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan.

Camp Invitation Highlights Freshman Success

Cam Appenzeller, a right‑handed pitcher from Tennessee, has been selected for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp, a prestigious invitation that underscores his rapid rise in college baseball.

During his freshman campaign he posted a 6‑1 record, a 4.89 earned run average and a 1.18 WHIP, striking out 59 batters across 53.1 innings.

He opened league play with four consecutive shutout relief appearances and later compiled 21.2 consecutive scoreless innings before surrendering his first run in an SEC contest.

Four of his six wins came against SEC foes, highlighting his dominance within the conference.

The camp will culminate in a series of doubleheaders from June 27 to 29, followed by the Stars vs. Stripes Series on June 30 at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville, North Carolina, before the squad travels to Taiwan for the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship from July 11 to 15.

Appenzeller joins six other Tennessee alumni who have previously represented the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, making him the seventh pitcher from the Volunteers to earn the honor.
