The recent regional tournaments have underscored the consistency of several Illinois high school programs, with the Peotone girls soccer team securing its fifth straight title and the Herscher squad extending its own decade‑long run.
Girls Soccer Dominance
Peotone defeated Beecher 2‑1, with Allie Werner delivering both goals for the champions. Beecher’s Grace Durante, whose career now ranks third in IHSA history for goals, saw her season end in the final.
Herscher followed up with a 3‑1 victory over Reed‑Custer, where Gianni Jaime scored all three goals, cementing another milestone for the program.
