Rutgers University is set to roll out its most ambitious official visit weekend yet, inviting a select group of elite high school football prospects to experience campus life, the surrounding region and the Scarlet Knights' football culture.
A Weekend of Firsts
The itinerary blends the natural appeal of the Jersey Shore with the urban energy of New York City, giving recruits a taste of both coastal relaxation and metropolitan excitement.
Among the visitors, Terrance Smith, a four‑star prospect from Langdale Catholic in Pennsylvania, is viewed as a top target, while Arnold Mugerwa, a three‑star standout from Richland High in the same state, also lists Rutgers as his favorite. Meanwhile, Jamar Taylor has already pledged to the Scarlet Knights, and James Cocozzo joins him as a recent commitment.
The coaching staff is also courting other highly rated names such as Moses Poku‑Kankam, Saleh Atariwa and Delorean Airall Jr., while keeping an eye on unranked but promising talents like Charles Butler and Ramir Harris‑Dupree, who are leaning toward Rutgers or other programs.
The weekend represents more than a recruitment tool; it is a statement that the Scarlet Knights are ready to compete with traditional powerhouses like NC State, Virginia Tech and West Virginia for the next wave of talent.
