A Strategic Partnership
In a move that blends America’s love of stock car racing with the sharing economy, five major NASCAR venues have announced a collaboration with Airbnb to provide lodging options for fans beginning with the 2027 season.
The tracks involved — Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee, Darlington Raceway in South Carolina, Martinsville Speedway in Virginia, North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Carolina, and Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama — will each feature Airbnb listings directly on their official websites, giving race‑goers a new way to secure accommodations in regions where hotel rooms are often scarce.
Airbnb’s Head of US East Business, Adam Alfandary, described the arrangement as a way to formalize and amplify practices that have long existed in what he calls “NASCAR country,” where local residents have historically opened their homes to traveling fans.
NASCAR’s Vice President of Track Sales, T.R. Stape, added that the partnership represents an extension of the sport’s heritage tracks’ representation, underscoring the series’ commitment to community engagement and fan experience.
Listings will become searchable on the tracks’ sites ahead of the 2027 season, allowing fans to book stays that place them close to the action while supporting local hosts.
Economic Impact and Community Benefits
Local economies stand to gain from increased visitor spending, as fans who stay in nearby homes are more likely to explore surrounding attractions, dine at regional eateries, and contribute to the vitality of small businesses.
The initiative also reflects Airbnb’s broader reach, with more than five million hosts worldwide having welcomed over 2.5 billion guest arrivals since the platform’s launch in 2007.
