A New Anchor for the Mountaineer Line
Carsten Casady, a 6‑foot‑6, 304‑pound offensive tackle from Rolesville, North Carolina, officially signed with West Virginia University in early January 2026. The commitment marks a significant recruiting win for the Mountaineers as they prepare for the upcoming fall campaign.
Ranked No. 23 among offensive tackles by 247 Sports, Casady arrives with a pristine pass‑protection pedigree — he has never allowed a sack throughout his high school career. Over two seasons he logged 1,167 snaps, starting every game his senior year and playing 774 of those at right tackle for coach Jason Candle.
During his senior season at Rolesville High School, the offensive line averaged 211 rushing yards per game and produced 33 touchdowns, while the team also delivered a 3,000‑yard passer, a 1,000‑yard rusher and a 1,000‑yard receiver. Those offensive milestones underscore the talent Casady brings to Morgantown.
Casady’s experience and success rate position him to compete immediately at the Big 12 level. His proven durability and pass‑blocking excellence are expected to bolster the Mountaineers’ line as they aim to elevate their overall offensive production in the conference.
