Syracuse Basketball Eyes 2027 and 2028 Recruiting Frontiers

Coaches scout top prospects including Isaiah Hamilton, Braxton Bogard and Rowan Phillips as the EYBL spring session unfolds

Syracuse’s men’s basketball staff is juggling two recruiting timelines. While the program remains anchored on the 2027 cycle, assistants have begun systematic evaluation of the 2028 cohort, a group of rising juniors whose early-season showings have sparked considerable interest.

EYBL Spring Session Provides a Stage for Emerging Stars

During the current evaluation period, Syracuse assistants observed 2028 five‑star wing Isaiah Hamilton, who competes for Canada Elite in the Under Armour Association league. Hamilton’s blend of size and perimeter skill has placed him among the nation’s top‑25 prospects, drawing attention from the Orange’s coaching crew.

Two other 2028 standouts, power forward Braxton Bogard and combo guard Rowan Phillips, have also entered the Orange’s radar. Bogard, a four‑star prospect linked to Hampton‑based Boo Williams on Nike’s EYBL circuit, posted a 16.8‑point, 7.8‑rebound line in Memphis, while Phillips, ranked No. 21 overall, logged 18 points and 1.8 steals per game for Philadelphia’s Team Final. Both players were seen by Syracuse assistants during a recent matchup between Boo Williams and Team Final.

The EYBL’s spring session, now underway in Kansas City, Missouri, serves as a proving ground for these prospects. As coaches from Syracuse and other programs continue to attend games, the early data will shape the next wave of scholarship considerations, with the 2027 class still commanding the bulk of the program’s immediate focus.
