Allegations Surface in Ongoing Inquiry
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation into Nick Codutti, the current head football coach at Klein High School, after allegations emerged that he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a former student at Tomball High School. Officials say the alleged misconduct is believed to have occurred between 2017 and 2021, when Codutti served as an assistant coach at the school.
The student in question attended Tomball High School from 2016 through 2020, and law enforcement officials indicate the alleged incidents took place during that period. Klein Independent School District responded by ordering Codutti to step away from campus as soon as the investigation came to light, while Child Protective Services has been working in tandem with sheriff’s deputies to assess the situation.
As of now, no criminal charges have been filed, and both Tomball Independent School District and Lamar Consolidated Independent School District have emphasized that no formal complaints or reports of misconduct were lodged during Codutti’s tenure with them. Lamar CISD, which employed Codutti as head football coach at Fulshear High School from 2021 to 2025, also stated that there was no evidence of wrongdoing during that time.
The case underscores the broader scrutiny of coaching staff conduct within Texas high school athletics, prompting cooperation from multiple state agencies, including the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the Texas Education Agency, which are providing support to the ongoing investigation.
