The Basketball Africa League is set to ignite its postseason this week, with the opening games scheduled for May 22 in Kigali, Rwanda. The tournament’s climax will unfold on May 31 in the same city, where the eight finalists will contest the championship before a home crowd.
Eight Teams Advance to the Final Four
After a grueling Kalahari and Sahara conference group phase, eight clubs have earned the right to contest the championship, each representing a different corner of the continent.
The qualified squads include Rwanda’s RSSB Tigers, Angola’s Petro de Luanda, Libya’s Al Ahly Ly, Tanzania’s Dar City, Senegal’s ASC Ville de Dakar, Tunisia’s Club Africain, Morocco’s FUS Rabat and Egypt’s Al Ahly.
Championship Night Set for May 31
The culmination of the tournament will unfold on May 31 in the Rwandan capital, where the eight finalists will battle for the coveted title in front of a home crowd. Beyond the spectacle, the event underscores the league’s role in fostering talent and unity across African basketball ecosystems, a mission championed by the Basketball Africa League, the competition’s governing body.
