Semifinal Showdown at Wardsville
The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons saw their Class 1 District 2 campaign end with a 1‑0 defeat to Veritas Christian on Tuesday night. Veritas struck early, finding the net midway through the opening half, a goal that proved decisive.
Despite a flurry of chances, the Falcons could not equalize, their attacks falling just short of the target. The single goal proved enough for Veritas, who now advance to the championship match against Duchesne.
Blair Oaks finished the season with a 14‑10 record and will lose only two seniors, a modest turnover that coach Joren Trimble says leaves the program poised for growth. “We have a solid foundation and the experience to build on,” Trimble remarked after the final whistle.
The loss caps a season of steady improvement for the Falcons, who entered the tournament with high hopes but fell just short of the title clash.
