Rodney Jordan, who led the Satsuma (Ala.) High School football program for four years, has been relieved of his duties as head coach, the school board announced Tuesday.
Jordan’s tenure produced a 13‑26 record, with the 2023 and 2024 campaigns each ending at 5‑5, the only seasons in which the Gators posted winning percentages above .500.
The most recent season saw the team tumble to 2‑7, a result that placed the program at No. 272 in the final 2025 Alabama High School Football Massey Rankings, prompting the board to seek a new direction.
A New Chapter for the Gators
Satsuma City School System, an independent district since 2012, emphasizes a holistic approach that blends academics, athletics and the arts, a philosophy that administrators say will guide the search for a coach who can restore competitiveness while upholding the school’s broader educational mission.
The board hopes the next leader will build on the foundation laid by the district’s commitment to student‑athlete development and bring the program back to relevance in the highly competitive Alabama high school football landscape.
