FSU’s Recruiting Surge
The Florida State Seminoles are turning up the heat on the recruiting trail, zeroing in on elite talent at the running back position as they aim to reshape their 2027 class. Already holding seven verbal commitments, the group sits at No. 40 in the national rankings, a promising foundation for a class that could climb higher with the right additions.
Four‑star back Daylon Gordon from Texas, a prospect who already boasts nearly two dozen scholarship offers, received a coveted spot on the Seminoles’ roster after the staff extended a scholarship. He is set to take an official visit to Houston from June 4‑6, giving the coaching staff a closer look at his 1,400‑yard junior season, which included 11 touchdowns and a kickoff return for a score as a special‑teams standout.
A Pivotal Summer
Beyond Gordon, the Seminoles are monitoring a handful of other high‑school standouts, including Jayden Miles, Tai Phillips, Asa Barnes and Marquis Fennell. The outcomes of these evaluations, coupled with the final decisions of the remaining targets, will likely determine whether the class can break into the top tier of the national rankings.
The success of the program in June and July will be crucial. Official visits, late‑season performances and the ability to secure commitments from the remaining prospects could propel Florida State upward in the rankings and solidify a recruiting strategy that has already yielded a strong early base.
