A Season of Recognition
The DeSales University baseball program celebrated a historic night as the Bulldogs swept the MAC Freedom Player and Coach of the Year awards, with nine athletes earning All-Conference honors.
Senior JT Anderosky headlined the sweep, capturing both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, while senior pitcher Mike Hooker was recognized as Pitcher of the Year.
Coach Bryan Torresani and his staff also received Coaching Staff of the Year honors, underscoring the program’s collective excellence.
Player Accolades
Anderosky’s 76 hits and 61 runs scored set a school record, placing him just two shy of the single-season mark, while Hooker posted an 8-1 record with a 3.81 ERA over 75 2/3 innings.
Freshman Kevin Brace was honored as Co-Rookie of the Year, joining a lineage of Bulldogs who have claimed the award for four consecutive seasons.
All-Conference selections Jacob Rivera and Owen Fischl added to the team’s depth, with Rivera earning a second All-Conference nod and Fischl repeating the achievement after last year’s honorable-mention.
The rest of the All-Conference squad includes Joe Ficoturo, Alex Crudder, Dominic Berretta and John Rorick, each contributing to the team’s depth and success.
The Bulldogs finished the regular season with 33 victories, the second most in program history, positioning them to potentially host the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
Athletic Director John Rorick praised the student-athletes and staff, noting that the accolades reflect the university’s growing baseball tradition and its impact on the broader campus community.
