Baylor Secures Commitment from Top Offensive Lineman Chase Allen for the 2027 Class

The addition bolsters the Bears' revamped line as they aim to strengthen the running game

Baylor University’s football program received a major boost this week when offensive lineman Chase Allen announced his commitment to the 2027 recruiting class, choosing the Bears over several Power Five programs.

Ranked as the No. 134 interior offensive lineman nationally, Allen brings a polished skill set that was on full display during his junior season, where he recorded 50 pancake blocks while allowing just one pressure and one sack.

A Strategic Addition to the Line

Coach Dave Aranda has emphasized the need to improve the running game, and Allen’s pledge aligns with a broader effort to rebuild the offensive line after the departure of several key players from the 2025 roster.

The Bears have already addressed the gap through the transfer portal, welcoming former Texas Longhorn Nate Kibble and six other linemen, while Hudson Whitenight remains the only other offensive lineman already committed.

Allen’s decision also underscores Baylor’s growing pipeline of Texas talent, as five of the program’s six current commitments hail from the Lone Star State, reinforcing the coaching staff’s regional focus.
