A rain‑halted Memorial Day spectacle
The Coca‑Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway wrapped up a packed weekend that also saw Felix Rosenqvist take the Indy 500 and Kimi Antonelli win the Canadian Grand Prix. While those victories unfolded on ovals and circuits elsewhere, the NASCAR Cup Series finale was poised to be the season’s longest race.
Rain moved in with 27 laps remaining, forcing officials to end the event early. Daniel Suarez, who had led 17 laps, was declared the winner ahead of Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin, who rounded out the podium.
Tribute to Kyle Busch
The race marked the first Cup Series event since the sudden death of veteran Kyle Busch, who was 41. Tributes echoed throughout the track, and Austin Hill, driving Busch’s former car, finished 27th in the lineup.
Series officials released the complete finishing order, confirming Bell in second, Hamlin in third, and a host of other competitors following Suarez’s triumph.
