Wexler, best known as the founder of the fantasy sports platform PrizePicks and chief executive of The Hidden Jams, said the gift is intended to reinforce personnel salaries, operating expenses and the Athletic Director Excellence Fund, ensuring the program can compete effectively in the coming season.
A strategic investment amid transition
The timing of the donation coincides with a turbulent offseason for Georgia basketball, as star players Jeremiah Wilkinson and Somto Cyril have entered the transfer portal, leaving the roster with notable gaps.
University officials say the funds will be allocated directly to coaching staff salaries, travel costs and other day‑to‑day operational needs, providing a financial buffer as the team integrates new talent.
Wexler's connection to the university runs deep; his father, Alan Wexler, also attended UGA as a two‑sport student‑athlete, and the family has long been vocal about supporting Bulldog athletics.
