Tennessee State University announced the addition of Aaron Bradshaw, a 7‑foot‑1 center, to its men’s basketball roster, marking a significant recruitment for the program. Veteran Nolan Smith welcomed the new signing, citing his size and experience as assets for the team.
A Recruit with a Proven Track Record
Bradshaw arrived at the collegiate level as a McDonald’s All‑American and a five‑star prospect in the 2023 class, earning the No. 5 overall ranking from both ESPN and Rivals and receiving an ESPN scout grade of 93.
During his three‑year college career he appeared in 77 games, starting 37, and posted averages of 6.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 55.6 % from the field and 77.2 % from the free‑throw line.
At Memphis in the 2025‑26 season he reached career highs of 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, playing 18.9 minutes per contest and recording 13 double‑figure scoring outings.
His defensive numbers included 51 total blocks and 37 steals across three programs, highlighting his shot‑blocking and play‑making abilities.
Prior to college he dominated at Camden High School in New Jersey, averaging 12.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game and guiding his team to a NJSIAA Group 2 state championship.
What This Means for Tennessee State
The Tigers hope Bradshaw’s blend of size, shooting efficiency and defensive presence will bolster a program seeking to return to national relevance. His proven ability to score in double figures and contribute on the glass aligns with the coaching staff’s vision for a more dynamic offense.
Looking Ahead
With the offseason acquisition of Bradshaw, Tennessee State aims to build on recent progress and compete more aggressively in its conference. The addition of a player who has experienced high‑pressure environments at Kentucky, Ohio State and Memphis is expected to bring a new level of intensity and leadership to the squad.
