A Milestone for the Program
The Florida State Seminoles will open the Tallahassee Regional on Friday, May 29, at 3 p.m., welcoming St. John's University to Dick Howser Stadium. The matchup marks the first step of a tournament that also includes Coastal Carolina and Northern Illinois, all vying for a spot in the College World Series.
Seeded tenth in the regional bracket, the Seminoles enter the competition with a 38‑17 overall record and eight ACC series victories. Their recent history includes a College World Series appearance in 2024 and a super‑regional run in 2025, achievements that have set high expectations for this year’s squad.
Head coach Link Jarrett, now in his fourth season, has guided the team to two trips to Omaha and believes this regional could be another stepping stone toward a national title. The roster features ACC Pitcher of the Year Wes Mendes and five All‑ACC selections, underscoring the talent that helped the team finish the season strong.
Despite an 8‑6 loss to Pitt in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals, the Seminoles closed the year with a solid performance that highlighted their depth and resilience. The experience gained from previous tournament runs adds a layer of confidence as they prepare for the regional.
Fans and alumni alike are eager to see the Seminoles bring their home‑field advantage to bear, hoping the familiar atmosphere at Dick Howser Stadium will translate into a strong showing on the national stage.
