A Shocking End to the ODAC Campaign
The 2026 ODAC baseball season concluded far earlier than many expected, with two of its traditionally strong programs — Lynchburg and Randolph‑Macdonald — exiting in the Super Regional round. The defeats left the conference without any representatives in the upcoming College World Series, despite having three teams ranked in the national Top 10 during the regular season.
Lynchburg, the second‑ranked team in the country, fell to East Texas Baptist in a best‑of‑three series. After dropping Game 1 8‑2, the Flames rallied with a 3‑1 victory in Game 2, thanks to a complete‑game effort from Logan Tapman. While East Texas Baptist and Rowan advance to the next stage, both schools are rooted in different states — East Texas Baptist in Texas and Rowan in New Jersey — highlighting the geographic spread of the competition.
