Rees Knapp Commits to Cornerstone University Basketball Program

The Hamilton Heights senior will study business administration and bring his Christian values to the NAIA program.

A Commitment Rooted in Character

Rees Knapp, a senior at Hamilton Heights High School, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is the son of Bryce Knapp and Heather Knapp, brother of Chris Knapp, and grandson of Sylvia Knapp and Simon Kuhn, who have all played pivotal roles in shaping his athletic and academic pursuits.

Knapp will study business administration at Cornerstone University, a member of the Wolverine‑Hoosier Athletic Conference and an institution of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, while preparing for a career in sales. His involvement in the National Honor Society, where he serves as an officer, reflects his commitment to scholarship and leadership.

Beyond the court, Knapp balances his schedule with worship at Arcadia Christian Church, participation in 4‑H livestock projects, and part‑time work at Wilson’s Farm Market. Coach Chad Ballenger and Athletic Director Kurt Ogden have both praised his dedication, character, and the values he brings to the team.

The university community looks forward to welcoming a young athlete whose family roots, academic ambition, and Christian faith align with Cornerstone’s mission, positioning him to contribute meaningfully both on and off the court.
