A Summer of Baseball in Flagler County
This summer, the newly formed Orange State League will bring collegiate baseball to Palm Coast, giving fans a chance to see high‑level play in a setting that blends competition with community spirit.
Four teams – the Palm Coast Big Buoys, along with squads from New Smyrna Beach, Cocoa Beach and St. Augustine – will meet on Baseball Field 2 at the Indian Trails Sports Complex. The league’s schedule kicks off at 7 p.m. on June 17, with additional games scattered throughout July, allowing families to plan outings around a growing calendar of matches.
The league has secured non‑exclusive rights to use Field 2 and the adjacent batting cages, and it will be responsible for keeping the diamond clean after each game. The agreement spans three years, with an option to extend for another three, ensuring a stable platform for future seasons.
Beyond the sport, organizers expect the league to draw players, families and visitors from across the region, generating economic activity for local businesses and providing recreational opportunities that enrich the Palm Coast community.
City officials say the influx of visitors will translate into higher sales for restaurants, hotels and retail shops, while the presence of college‑level athletes adds a youthful energy that encourages participation in youth baseball programs.
