On May 23, the Palmetto Blacksmiths hosted a pro‑style Scout Day at Lexington County BallPark in Lexington, South Carolina, drawing a deep pool of regional talent. Position players underwent a comprehensive workout that included a 60‑yard dash, defensive drills, batting practice with TrackMan ball‑flight analysis, and pitcher bullpens measured by TrackMan.
Statistical leaders emerged across each category. Brayden Simpson of Broome, SC, posted the fastest 60‑yard dash at 6.40 seconds, while Theo Lima from P27 Baseball Academy in Ontario logged the highest exit velocity at 103.9 mph. Mason Phelps of Lexington, SC, led infielders with an 85 mph throw, and Briggs Talbert of Rock Hill, SC, topped outfielders at 91 mph.
Pitching and Catching Metrics
During pitcher bullpens, Briggs Talbert also recorded the highest fastball velocity at 88.6 mph. In catching drills, Joseph Fallon of P27 Baseball Academy posted an 85 mph catcher velocity and achieved the quickest pop times ranging from 1.80 to 2.01 seconds, underscoring his defensive readiness.
