The 2026 baseball season will be remembered at Tufts University for more than just a winning record; it produced a wave of individual accolades that placed the Jumbos among the nation's most recognized college programs.
All-Region Selections
Five Tufts athletes earned spots on the All-Region squads, a testament to the program’s depth and the competitive edge they displayed throughout the campaign.
Jack Kamin's Offensive Mastery
Leading the offense, Jack Kamin posted a .442 batting average over 156 at-bats, driving in 45 runs and compiling a .615 slugging percentage. His 19-game hit streak set a new program record since 2014, underscoring his consistency at the plate.
Cole Donato's Pitching Excellence
On the mound, Cole Donato emerged as the ABCA Region 1 Pitcher of the Year, finishing the season with nine wins and a 2.40 ERA across 12 appearances. He also topped the NESCAC with a 1.16 WHIP and struck out 61 batters while walking only 20.
Derek Desmarais' Bullpen Impact
Reliever Derek Desmarais anchored the bullpen, recording eight saves and a 3-2 record while maintaining a 0.94 WHIP. His 31 strikeouts against just five walks highlighted his dominance in high-leverage situations.
James Henshon's All-Round Contributions
Utility player James Henshon blended hitting and base-running, finishing with a .337 average, nine triples — the most in the NESCAC — and a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen-base attempts. He also contributed three home runs and 36 RBI, posting a 1.012 OPS.
Emmet Christian's Second-Team Recognition
Right-hander Emmet Christian earned a spot on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team, finishing 8-1 with two complete games and 63 strikeouts in 63.1 innings. His 1.17 WHIP ranked second among Tufts starters.
Collectively, these performances not only secured regional honors but also positioned the Jumbos as a formidable force heading into the next season, with a blend of power, precision and poise that promises continued success.
