QUByte Interactive has revealed that its upcoming Soccer Kid Collection will hit stores on June 18, bringing a piece of retro gaming history to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
A nostalgic revival of a 16‑bit classic
The game places players in the shoes of Soccer Kid, a youngster tasked with recovering a shattered World Cup trophy. Using a soccer ball as both tool and weapon, players navigate side‑scrolling stages, perform tricks, and engage enemies with headers, volleys and bicycle kicks.
Gameplay spans diverse environments, from the foggy streets of England to sun‑drenched locales across the globe, all rendered in authentic 16‑bit style. Modern conveniences such as Save States allow players to pause progress at any moment, while optional CRT filters and adjustable screen ratios recreate the look of vintage displays.
Preserving the past for a new generation
Beyond the core title, the collection bundles original box art, manuals and vintage advertisements, giving fans a tangible sense of the era. The release also includes the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and MS‑DOS versions, each faithfully emulated to retain their original feel while benefiting from contemporary stability improvements.
