A Community‑Focused Celebration
Gotham FC, the National Women's Soccer League club based in New Jersey, has announced a partnership with the sustainable fashion brand Grüns that will see 1,000 free tickets handed out to the upcoming Queens Classic at Citi Field.
The giveaway, timed to coincide with World Football Giving Day, is being presented by CarMax and will benefit a slate of grassroots soccer nonprofits, including Street Soccer USA, New York SCORES, South Bronx United, Safe-Hub Philadelphia and Design FC.
The match, scheduled for Wednesday, July 15 at 8 p.m. Eastern, will pit Gotham FC against the Washington Spirit and mark the first professional women's sporting event ever hosted inside Citi Field, the iconic stadium that is home to the New York Mets.
Organizers say the tickets will be allocated to community groups that serve underserved youth, with the goal of expanding access to the sport and fostering inclusion across the region.
In addition to the ticket giveaway, the first 7,500 fans in attendance will receive a limited‑edition Rose Lavelle bobblehead, adding a collectible element to what promises to be a landmark evening for the growing women's game.
The event forms part of a busy summer for soccer in the New York area, with the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final set to be played just a short distance away at MetLife Stadium the following weekend, underscoring the growing momentum around the sport.
Further details about in‑stadium programming and additional ticketing options will be released in the coming months, and interested supporters can find the latest information at Mets.com/GothamFC.
