USA Hockey Honors 13 Trailblazers at Denver President’s Awards Dinner

Celebrating grassroots pioneers, coaching legends, and rising stars at the annual meeting

A Night of Recognition

On June 5, USA Hockey will gather in Denver for its annual President’s Awards Dinner, a ceremony that shines a spotlight on the individuals who have shaped the sport from the grassroots up.

The evening will honor 13 distinguished contributors, each receiving a signature award that reflects a different facet of hockey excellence.

Don Bradford is slated to receive the Wm. Thayer Tutt Award, acknowledging his long‑standing commitment to grassroots hockey in Wisconsin.

Mark Carlson will be celebrated with the Distinguished Achievement Award for his coaching career, notably his success with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.

Donna Guariglia will be presented with the Builders Award for her pivotal role in expanding girls’ and women’s hockey across the United States.

Additional honors will recognize the Adult Player of the Year, the Bob Allen Women’s Player of the Year, the Jim Johannson College Player of the Year, the Dave Peterson Goaltender of the Year, the Dave Tyler Junior Player of the Year, the Disabled Athlete of the Year, the Dr. Alan Ashare Excellence in Safety Award, the John Beadle Adult Member of the Year, and the Chet Stewart Award for officiating development.

Coach developer Mike Norton will also be celebrated with the Walter Yaciuk Award, highlighting his contributions to coaching education.

The dinner forms part of a four‑day Annual Meeting that brings together stakeholders from across the nation to discuss the future of the sport.
