Lauren Harris, a standout guard from Faith Christian High School in Yuba City, California, has officially signed with the Colorado women's basketball program for the 2026‑27 season, adding a proven scorer and playmaker to the roster.
Harris arrives with a suite of national and state records to her name, including 742 career three‑pointers, a single‑season mark of 242, and a career total that tops both the California and national leaderboards.
Head coach JR Payne praised the newcomer, highlighting her shooting precision, toughness and competitive spirit. "Lauren brings a level of confidence and fire that fits perfectly with what we’re building here," Payne said in the announcement.
The commitment also underscores a family connection; Harris was coached by her father, Geoff Harris, who himself played collegiately at Faith Christian, adding a unique personal dimension to her recruitment story.
Colorado’s 2026‑27 class will feature five incoming transfers alongside seven returning players, a blend that helped the Buffs finish the previous season with a 22‑12 record and a 17th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Buffs closed out the 2025‑26 campaign with an 11‑7 mark in conference play, and while they fell in the first round to Illinois, the team has posted winning records in each of the past five seasons.
With a track record of four straight SMAL Conference titles and three CIF Sac‑Joaquin Section championships, Harris is expected to contribute immediately and help the program maintain its recent momentum.
